The 1440p monitor is still the smartest upgrade you can make
If you are still gaming on 1080p, a 27-inch QHD panel at 144–165Hz will change more about how games feel than a new GPU will. The reason is simple: you notice clarity and motion every second you play, while a faster card mostly shows up in a frame counter. Right now the mid-range QHD segment is the most competitive it has been all year, which means the gap between a good panel and a great one is smaller than the price gap suggests. Buy for panel quality and stand ergonomics, not for the highest number on the box.

When a pre-order discount is real — and when it is theatre
Pre-order “savings” are usually just the launch price dressed up with a crossed-out number that was never charged. A real pre-order discount has two traits: it is lower than the price the same retailer charged for the previous model at launch, and it survives past the first week. If a listing only shows a percentage off with no logged reference price, treat it as marketing. We only flag a pre-order when we have a recorded baseline to compare against, which is why most of them never make it onto this page.
